How the wire works

1. Collect. Each publisher’s official feed is checked on the cadence below. A publisher that stops answering is checked less often and is shown here as not responding.
2. Publish the publisher’s words. Every headline is the publisher’s own and links to the original. Government and bar publications also show their feed excerpt; commercial outlets show the headline only.
3. Tag against our index. Stories are matched to the JPML’s active MDL list, bar associations, trial lawyer organizations, conferences, courts, agencies and the firms in our directory. Each tag shows the exact words that produced it.
4. Link firms only on proof. A firm is linked when its full name is unique in our index and the same story names the firm’s city or website. When several firms share a name, the story links to a directory search instead of choosing one.
5. Group the same story. Reports of the same event from different publishers are grouped, led by the most official source.
